• History of the Plonkers Agricultural Orchestra.

    • The Plonkers Agricultural Orchestra started life in 1979 when they entered the Lymington Carnival with a two wheeled cart pulled by Plonker, the donkey.

    • At the time the band only knew one song but in the ensuing 46 years the Plonkers have earned a notable reputation, appearing regularly at steam fairs, country shows, weddings, birthdays and other fun events.

    • They have also been featured on radio and TV.

    • Our recordings are available on four CD's from this website.

  • What We Do . . .

    • Our Lorry incorporates a mobile stage.

    • We are totally self reliant, with on board generator to power lights and our PA system

    • We do our own setup.

    • We can also make our stage available to other musicians if the need arises.

    • All we need is a spot in a field with an enthusiastic audience.

  • Benefits to You . . .
.
    • We provide a fun loaded memorable experience.

    • We are a sales "magnet" for refreshments, food and drink vendors.

    • We provide music and entertainment throughout the day and evening.

  • How We Do It . . .

    • We are a colourful professional, long standing act and have a loyal fan base. We play traditional and humorous English country music.

    • We encourage audience participation and anyone can use our traditional hand instruments such as rattles and tambourines and are invited to sing along and dance.

    • Show organizers usually place us near the food and drink vendors, where people can relax and … buy more food and drinks!
